(Doing any routine housework before leaving DH and teen-aged son home alone for 10 days is pointless.  At least #4 can work the dishwasher and washing machine, so they won't do without clean cups, plates, and towels.)

  4. Clean the sinks [x7]
  5. Sweep the kitchen floor [x4]

  9. School holidays - O/N guests (x7)
  10. Take rubbish and recycling to the transfer center (17th)
  11. Pay bills due in the next 20 days (11th)
  12. Schedule electrician (13th)
  13. Prepare for a week on a tropical island:  buy & install smoke detector in addition
